About Sentiment Index
Sentiment Index is a free fear and greed comparison tool. Chart the Fear & Greed Index against any stock ticker for an instant comparison, alongside RSI, VIX, put/call ratio, and other market sentiment indicators.
The goal is simple: make it easy to see how market-wide sentiment lines up with the price action of any individual stock, index, or commodity.
What the Fear & Greed Index measures
The index is a single 0 to 100 score for whether investors are being driven by fear or by greed. Above 65 is Greed, often read as a sign that buying has got ahead of itself; below 20 is Fear, and panic tends to overshoot in the other direction. It is a reading of mood, not a forecast.
Seven market indicators go into the score, and each of them can be charted here on its own: market momentum against the 125-day average, stock price strength, stock price breadth, put and call option demand, market volatility, junk bond demand, and safe haven demand, meaning how money is splitting between stocks and treasuries.
